Our school is an exciting and rewarding place to work with excellent resources, including a state-of-the-art multi-sensory room.

About us:

We’re Salutem and we are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of thousands of children and adults in England and Wales across our residential homes, schools and day centres.

Individuals we support become part of a Salutem family, where they can be themselves, thrive, and love the life they live.  We are immensely proud of the part we play in creating meaningful days and fulfilled lives for everyone at Salutem, and that includes those who work for us. The opportunities and prospects really are limitless, and that’s why you should consider becoming part of our family.

About you:

We require an experienced speech and language therapist to lead on service development initiatives and evidenced based practice around dysphagia management. You will clinically support other speech and language therapy colleagues at the school, lead on training specific to eating and drinking needs and work towards embedding practice amongst all school staff.

You are a superhero to all the young people we support, making a difference in their lives every day. You overcome daily challenges to achieve a safe, stimulating and supportive educational experience for all our students, supporting the next generation to reach their full potential and helping them to achieve their greatest goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • To provide clinical leadership to a locality team (Other Speech and language therapists, therapy assistant, technologists), and be instrumental in developing pathways and whole school systems for supporting children at Ingfield Manor School.
  • To ensure effective and evidence best speech and language therapy practice is implemented and embedded throughout the school day.
  • To be the lead therapist for either communication / AAC and/or Dysphagia but demonstrating clinical proficiency in both areas.
  • To carry own caseload and work within the Conductive Education ethos of the school, as a member of a trans-disciplinary team.

At Salutem, you’re not just a care worker – you’re a supportive healthcare professional, an ambitious worker, a loyal colleague, a unique and transparent individual who provides engaging and meaningful experiences for the people we support.

What we offer you:

In regards to benefits, at Salutem, any day can be a payday. That’s right, you can withdraw up to 30% of your wages via Wagestream, so if you need some cash, we’ve got you covered.

As a keyworker in the Care sector, you’ll hold a valued role in society. You’ll qualify for discounts with a Blue Light card and we’re signed up to Perkbox which offers over 200 exclusive perks and discounts. If you qualify for a pension scheme and choose to opt in, we’ll support you to pay into this.

One of the best things about working at Salutem is our commitment to career progression. So if you have ambitions about developing your skills and one-day becoming a senior staff member or a champion in a specialist area, you can achieve your goals. You can succeed here and start a real career in care. We’ll provide all the training to help you, and at each step of the way you will be rewarded with an increased hourly rate or salary that reflects your commitment and success.

We also have an internal staff communications app, Blink, where everyone has a voice and can lean on each other for daily support, and celebrate success too.

For a more confidential chat you can access the Employee Support Helpline, to support you with any issues including financial advice, health and well-being and more.
